Cerasarda Abitare la Terra Collection

2017 is all about internationalization for Cerasarda, one of the most famous Italian ceramics manufacturers.

The “Ceramic company from the Emerald Coast” was the protagonist at the Maison&Object exhibition that took place in Paris during the month of January. The company, known worldwide for its cheerfully coloured glazes and refined decorations, showcased its most recent collection: Abitare la Terra.

The collection, first introduced during Cersaie 2016, is the result of years of experience, detailed study and continual monitoring of modern living trends by Maria Luisa Brighenti, designer and ceramist since the Eighties. Abitare la Terra stands out as an absolute innovation in modern design, and takes pride of place in the “Cerasarda Design” section.

Characterised by its materiality, harmonious chromatic tonalities enriched by contrasting colours and completely new decorative structures, Abitare la Terra is inspired by the warmth and generosity of Sardinia and is articulated in a wide range of modular formats to enable unlimited applications on both floors and walls, in response to an international market which is ever more attentive to the authenticity of materials as key to a truly contemporary lifestyle.

Casalgrande Padana Les Docks

The prestigious brand Casalgrande Padana has recently been awarded by FX Magazine prizes to 5+1 AA’s Marseille Docks and Diamante Boa projects.

These prizes confirm the company’s excellence in design and their unique ability to combine contemporary architecture with innovative solutions.

The prestigious FX Interior Design Award celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2016 and an international jury selected the best design projects in the world. The award is divided into two categories: architecture and construction projects and innovative products.  The first category includes public spaces and hotels whereas the second surfaces, floorings, lighting and so on.

The renovation of the Marseille Docks, by the 5+1 AA architectural studio, was the winner of the Global Project category. The Docks was a complex project and the star of it is Casalgrande Padana’s ceramic covering that creates a modern decorative effect emphasizing at the same time the design and style of its buildings and courtyards.

The concept behind the development of the project was the use of coloured ceramics to separate the public and private spaces.

The project has undoubtedly restored the bond between the docks, the city and the sea, with the ceramic covering combining high performance with expressive quality. With the use of seven shades of blue and more than 950 ceramic tiles the result was a celebration of the docks and their history.

Fap Atelier is a collection of collections – Firenze, Boston and Manhattan – showcasing what comes about when you combine true ceramic expertise with the elegant simplicity of natural materials.

Fap Atelier collections are made exclusively in small shapes with a hint of the handcrafted traditions of a bygone age.

The Firenze collection was inspired by the charm of old floors in Tuscan farmhouses and conjures up the handcrafted perfection of timeless items. Firenze has a matt surface whose aged look is ideal for floors with extra appeal and are intentionally not uniform. The collection tells a story of times gone by thanks to its unique and special hexagonal shape – 25 cm in diameter - recreating the allure of old Tuscan homes.

Boston has a metropolitan and minimalist style as well as an unmistakably vintage mood. The unusual 7.5x30 cm shape features a matt surface with a soft and extremely elegant finish. The range of colours adds to the handcrafted mood, with the six metropolitan shades – Argilla, Cemento, Gesso, Lavagna, Petrolio and Sabbia – in the Boston series.

With the Manhattan collection, a characteristically aged look is combined with the extremely contemporary feeling of the collection. The 10x30 cm size that Fap ceramiche is offering for the first time is typical of Italian ceramics but has been brought up to date by the irregular glossy surface, enhanced by the sophisticated range of contemporary colours consisting of nine mineral notes – Grey, Smoke, Pearl, Vintage, Jeans, Black, White, Sand, and Beige.

Fap Atelier is a Fap ceramiche brand created to fly the flag of traditional ceramics available in all its collections.
